Victor Grant is a singer/songwriter based in Austin TX. He cannot remember exactly when he started singing, only that he seemed to have a promising baby pageant career ahead of him until his Mr. Microphone changed the game forever!
While pursuing a marketing degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Victor found himself a home in One Note Stand, a nationally recognized collegiate a cappella group. During his time with One Note Stand, he found his passion for performing, and by a unanimous member vote, the group's name was unofficially changed to "Victor and the Stands."
After several almost successful auditions with FOX’s X-Factor USA, Victor channeled all his emotions into songwriting. He never let his non-success bring him down but used those experiences to learn and keep pushing forward. While shadowing local musicians in the summer of 2012, Victor decided it was time to get serious about his own music. He bought his famous blue guitar with a combination of money he earned working in a bakery and pennies he found around town. He began posting videos to YouTube, and continues to grow his audience one video at a time. His YouTube channel is full of covers of popular songs, but it is his collaboration on a cover of Sam Smith's "Like I Can" that has seen the most success with over 60,000 views.
Victor spent 2016 working on his debut EP, Out of the Dark. This record is basically his love letter to songwriter Ryan Tedder. After learning that Tedder works mostly with women because they tend to sing more about relationships, his writing forte, Victor began writing about his own experiences in hopes of working with him one day. From depression to empowerment to inebriation to acceptance, Out of the Dark takes you on an Alice in Wonderland type of journey through the stages of a breakup.
Out of the Dark was produced by Peter Tissot at Church House Studios in Austin, TX, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. It is set for a March 2017 release!
